Ring in the New Year with Festivities and Fun in Pearson Park!


"Of the Community, By the Community, For the Community"
Commemorating 250 Years of Kinston's Founding

Help kick off the year-long celebration of Kinston's founding 250 years ago on New Year's Eve.  Entertainment for the entire family. The count down to the New Year will begin just minutes before midnight Greenwich Mean Time (7pm local time).


Join us for fun filled evening celebrating Kingston’s 250th Birthday beginning in 2012! Tea and crumpets, music and entertainment beginning  at 5 pm Fireworks at 7 pm. Then dine and enjoy downtown until 10 when the party begins again for the countdown to 2012 .The great sounds of  rhythm, blues, and jazz  by  Dick Knight and his band will get the party going and continue until the countdown to 2012 with  First Night Fireworks Extravaganza at midnight!

7:15 - 8:00PM Performance by Dick Knight Band Celebrating the Olde Kingston New Year (British New Year)
 
 
KINSTON'S NEW YEARS EVE CELEBRATION
 
10:30 PM -- 12 Midnight  Dick Knight Band Concert
 
12 Midnight:     Raising the plane (to commemorate a new day in Kinston courtesy in part to new aero space industry
 
Fireworks Extravaganza over the Neuse
 
12:15 - 12:30 AM Dick Knight Band strikes up the band again to end the evening
 
 This is the first event of a year filled with events and activities to commemorate Kinston's 250th Anniversary.  Beginning in January visit the Museum and Exhibit trail each month to learn about our community's history from the early 1700s to today. Our entire community is encouraged to participate.
